Staying up late

Lately the latest I've been staying up on a work-night has been midnight, and that's even pushing it. I've found that I really enjoy my sleep. I'm thinking I missed out on so much of it when I worked 3rd shift at a resort and went to school full-time; so I'm making up for it now. However, there are those rare occasions when you can't help staying up because theres something you want to do.
Last night, for instance, was the opening night for The Dark Knight, the new Batman movie. I've never been a huge fan of Batman. In fact the last Batman movie I saw had George Clooney & Chris O'Donnell in it. Luckily for me, Dan owns the entire Batman collection (as far as I know), so I plan on starting at the very beginning and work my up to the present.
So anywho, back to last night. Dan, Adam & I had dinner at the Tilted Kilt (a Scottish version of Hooters I'd say) and walked around Wally World until 10:30. We got to the theater in time to get a decent parking spot & actually made it through the door in less than 5 minutes. Of course as soon as we got in and went to get seats we found out the line we were in was for the IMAX showing, which was sold out when I ordered our tickets. The theater "police" questioned us about how we got in, and I told her we stood in the line and handed over our ticket. I said if there would have been signage then we would have known we were in the wrong line! Oh well, we hung around the lobby for 10 minutes & as soon as they started letting the other line of people in we went and found our seats. So of course we sat for about an hour waiting.
It was definitely worth it though! I was not expecting to enjoy the movie as much as I did! We were even home by 3am!
Needless to say, it was a loooooong night.
I have to give KUDOS to the theater too! Everything was so organized. I was expecting a mad rush to get in and find seats and people being trampled over. But they let in groups of people at a time and it made for a very laid back atmosphere.
So...yea....I highly recommend The Dark Knight. It was awesome! I highly doubt we'll be taking in any more midnight premiers any time soon, but I'm glad we got to do this one. It was worth the lack of sleep!

It sounds like you had a great time. I'm sure your dad wants to see it, maybe I'll take him and he can see it and I'll go in and see Mama Mia. Hope all goes well at the church on Saturday. Miss ya.
